2024 October Intake New Student Entrance Ceremony and Shimokitazawa Exploration Event
On October 17, 2024, Wayo Japanese Language School held the entrance ceremony for its October intake at the Shimokitazawa Ward Citizen Hall in Setagaya Ward. On this special occasion, President Sayu, Principal Abe, and special guest Principal Lan from Shenzhen University Tokyo warmly welcomed the new students. They shared motivational speeches, drawing on their own experiences to encourage the students to work hard in Japan and pursue their dreams.
Following the speeches, both current students and new student representatives spoke, expressing their hopes and aspirations for their study abroad experience, along with their determination to be admitted to their desired universities. The arrival of these energetic, dream-filled new faces has brought fresh vitality and color to the academy.
Special Scholarship
At the ceremony, the institute specially awarded special scholarships to 11 outstanding new students, recognising their outstanding performance in the pre-entry period. This is both recognition of their past efforts and encouragement for their future studies.
Finally, the ceremony ended successfully in a warm atmosphere. The students came together, took photos and documented this wonderful moment. In the new semester, we will meet, come together and start a new life of study here. We look forward to future growth and exploration.
Shimokitazawa exploration event
After the entrance ceremony for new students, every time WAYO Japanese Language School holds an event for new students to explore Shimokitazawa. This traditional event is a great opportunity for new students to experience first-hand what Shimokitazawa has to offer, to familiarise themselves with the school’s surroundings and to make new friends. In this activity, the new students were divided into groups and each group was accompanied by a teaching teacher and a current student as a leader. The institute also provided all new students with a 1,000 yen meal subsidy to enjoy a variety of gastronomic delights in Shimokitazawa.
During this activity, the new students enjoyed delicious curry and a lot of laughter, but more than that, they were able to build new friendships within this vibrant community and experience first-hand the unique charm of Japanese culture. This event shows that the institute cares about each and every one of its students and wants them to adjust smoothly to life in another country.
To alleviate the loneliness that international students may feel in a foreign country, the WAYO Japanese Language School regularly organises a variety of extra-curricular activities to provide opportunities for students to interact with each other and to promote understanding. We hope that our new students will not only learn knowledge but also experience a varied and enjoyable life through this study abroad experience.
Looking to the future, the institute opens up new chapters full of possibilities with its students. We look forward to seeing you grow and achieve in your studies and in life, and to sharing many more wonderful moments with you. Let’s face new challenges and create wonderful memories together. Explore uncharted territory and harvest knowledge and friendship on this hopeful journey. I am confident that each and every one of you will find your own brilliance and magnificence in this experience!
