Activity Highlights

Recognition and Kindness from the Community

During the cleanup, many local residents expressed their appreciation to the students with smiles, bows, and even heartfelt words of gratitude like “Arigatou!”
These warm exchanges made a deep impression on participants, who felt:

“We are being welcomed by this city, and our actions are a way of returning that kindness.”

Impact and Meaning

This was not just a cleanup activity—it was a valuable opportunity for international students to actively engage with the local Japanese community. Both new and returning students of Woyo demonstrated their care for the environment through concrete actions, showcasing a strong sense of responsibility and enthusiasm for environmental protection.

We sincerely thank every teacher and student who participated so actively—your efforts have added warmth and meaning to the concept of “public service.” Our gratitude also goes to Setagaya Ward for providing international students with this precious opportunity to take part in the local community.

Following this event, Woyo Japanese Language School will be publicly recognized on the official website of Setagaya Ward—an honor that belongs to every dedicated participant. Hoyou will continue to organize various cross-cultural exchange and community service activities, encouraging international students to step out of the classroom, engage with society, grow through experience, and shine through their contributions. Let us work together to keep our city clean and preserve the purity of our planet.
