In April 2025, Wayo Japanese Language School welcomed a new semester and a fresh group of students. To help them smoothly adapt to life in Japan, the school thoughtfully organized a variety of orientation activities filled with care and support.

Airport Pickup Service — A Warm First Step into Study Abroad Life

When new students arrived in Japan, Wayo Japanese Language School provided a thoughtful and attentive airport pickup service. Regardless of the time—early morning or late at night—faculty and staff went to the airport to personally welcome the students, offering guidance on transportation, assistance with luggage, and basic explanations about daily life. This heartfelt “omotenashi” (hospitality) became a memorable and reassuring start to their journey in Japan.

Entrance Ceremony — Taking a Confident First Step in Learning

At the entrance ceremony, the school president and all faculty members warmly welcomed the new students. They offered words of encouragement, urging everyone to cherish their time studying in Japan, improve their Japanese language skills, actively challenge themselves, and move forward with confidence toward their individual dreams.

In addition, during the ceremony, scholarships were awarded to 21 outstanding new students who had demonstrated exceptional academic performance and dedication even before enrollment. These scholarships served not only as recognition of their past efforts but also as encouragement for their future studies, motivating them to maintain a positive and proactive attitude throughout their academic journey.

Shimokitazawa Exploration Event — Discovering Tokyo and Embracing Local Life

To help new students better understand their living environment and connect with the local community, we organized the “Shimokitazawa Exploration” event. Shimokitazawa, a popular cultural hotspot in Tokyo, is known for its unique shops, diverse food offerings, and essential services. While walking through the area with their teachers, students learned about transportation, shopping, dining, and other practical life skills in a fun and engaging way. This experience also strengthened friendships among students and laid a solid foundation for their future study abroad life.
