Hatsumode(the first shrine visit in the new year) – January 2023

Happy New Year 2023. In January 2023, each class went on a first shrine visit to the nearby Kitazawa Hachimangu Shrine. Additionally, as a class activity, students wrote their New Year’s goals on wooden plaques called “ema”. Through this activity, students were able to gain a better understanding of the Japanese culture of celebrating the New Year.
